The Sansglu take
The place
The Game Parlour sits on Irving Street in the Inner Sunset and has been San Francisco's first board game cafe since 2018. You order at the counter, take a tray, and play from a wall of hundreds of games. It is one of the few places a celiac can spend three hours without thinking about food safety once.
The gluten-free setup
The cafe's own FAQ answers it directly: everything prepared in the kitchen is gluten-free. Its listing carries a current reported dedicated gluten-free badge, with the owner describing a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. Two items served outside the kitchen do contain gluten, beer and the Othello cookies-and-cream latte, so order around those two and the rest of the board is open.
What to order
The menu is waffle-centric: savory waffle sandwiches, mochi waffle creations, and waffle fries. Look for a savory waffle sandwich with the fries, which is what most tables end up sharing over a game.
The move
Come with time, not just an appetite, and pick a game before you order so the kitchen and the table start together. Posted closing times differ between the cafe's site and its ordering page, so call 415-655-6600 to confirm the night you plan to go.
