The place
A family-friendly cantina at Highland and Amsterdam in Virginia-Highland, open since early 2025, with a full bar and a patio. The menu reads like regular Tex-Mex because the kitchen removed the gluten, not the dishes.
The gluten-free setup
The kitchen is gluten-free end to end, and community reports add votes for a dedicated fryer and knowledgeable staff. One honest caveat: the bar pours regular draft beer alongside local options, so the gluten-free promise covers the food, not every glass.
What to order
Celiac diners single out the soy-wrap burrito; one recent report called it the first real burrito since 2019 that did not arrive in a bowl. Skip it if you avoid soy.
The move
Closed Mondays. The rest of the week the kitchen runs lunch through dinner, and the patio seats are first come.
