The Sansglu take
The place
A family-run cafe and bakery on Alpharetta Street at the edge of Historic Roswell. Cristina Kisner moved her family from Peru in 2019 and cooked for her five daughters first; the Humans of New York author became a regular in 2021 and told her story to millions. The room runs on empanadas, bowls, and a pastry case, and the menu reads Peruvian first.
The gluten-free setup
The whole facility is gluten-free and dairy-free. The owner states it plainly: 100% gluten free, dairy free, GMO free, with no corn starch, oats, or peanuts in the kitchen. Celiac diners report it as a dedicated operation with no cross-contact concerns.
What to order
Empanadas are the signature. The menu also lists a chicken and mango curry sandwich, artichoke and spinach pot pies, and the Superpowerful Brownie in the bakery case.
The move
Closed Mondays, and Sunday runs a short 11am to 3pm window. A weekday lunch is the safest bet for the full menu; grab bakery items for the road.
