The Sansglu take

The place

Hold The Wheat took over one of the original 1969 Burgerville buildings on SW Canyon Road in Beaverton and reopened it in 2024 as a gluten-free bakery and café. The cases run from cookies and cupcakes to savory breakfast plates, and the room keeps its drive-in-era bones.

The gluten-free setup

The entire building is gluten-free: the owners state there is no gluten in the building, and every ingredient is checked as certified gluten-free or processed in a wheat-free facility. They note they cannot claim to be nut-free, so nut-allergic diners should ask first.

What to order

The menu lists an onion-cheese quiche with a crust reviewers rate as the best gluten-free pastry they have had, biscuits and gravy in generous portions, and rotating bakery-case cookies and cupcakes.

The move

It runs mornings to 4 pm daily, opening at 8 on weekends, so go for breakfast or lunch. The bakery turns two on August 22, 2026 with an all-day party.
