The Sansglu take
The place
Libby's is a small dedicated gluten-free bakery on Ledbury Road in Notting Hill. Founder Simon Wolanski started it as a Queen's Park pop-up in April 2021 after cutting gluten and sugar for medical reasons, and named it after his daughter. The counter carries croissants, bagels, cinnamon rolls, and focaccia, with a few tables for coffee.
The gluten-free setup
The whole bakery is gluten-free, with no outside food allowed in store and staff trained on cross-contamination. One honest nuance: most bakes use gluten-free wheat starch, which is celiac-safe but not suitable for a wheat allergy, so wheat-allergic visitors should ask before ordering. The sourdough is the exception, made without it.
What to order
Celiac diners come for the croissants and bagels, and the cinnamon rolls are the other reported favorite. Look for the laminated pastries early; the croissant trays are the reason the Ledbury Road queue forms in the morning.
The move
Go in person and go early: the shop opens at 8 on weekdays and 9 on weekends, and popular bakes sell down by afternoon. Online ordering is paused until September for staff holidays, so the counter is currently the only way to get the pastries.
