The Sansglu take

The place

Askatu is an independent, BIPOC woman-owned and women-run bakery cafe at 2209 4th Ave in Belltown. The official site lists bakery-counter service, catering, custom cakes, breads, and cafe drinks.

The gluten-free setup

Askatu's official site says every product is baked in a fully dedicated facility designed to reduce cross-contact and that its products exclude the top nine plus food allergens. The reviewed pages do not publish a named third-party certification, separate-fryer details, or staff-training protocol.

What to order

The current official menu lists cookies, hand pies, breads, cakes, pies and tarts, cafe savories, and seasonal items. Askatu's branded site also highlights whoopie cookies, fruit hand pies, brownies, custom and wedding cakes, and large bread orders.

The move

The official Liberated Foods site lists Tuesday through Friday hours of 10am to 3pm and Saturday hours of 10am to 2pm, with Sunday and Monday closed. Check the current menu or contact the bakery before traveling for a specific item.
